Nalam is truly the right place for my child to grow and nurture — the name itself defines “Nalam” (wellbeing). Nalam is a place where my child’s mistakes are viewed as learning opportunities, and it provides a loving, safe, and supportive environment — a second home for my child.

I took my child to Nalam on 6th March 2022, and our journey began the very next day. Nalam is one of the very few centres that offers complete transparency of therapies and clear explanations of the goals set for my child. Within just two weeks, I felt confident that my child was in good hands and a safe place. We are extremely happy with the care and support given by Nalam, and I have seen drastic improvements in my child’s speech, behaviour, social skills, eating habits, and overall development. Therapist is highly skilled, deeply devoted, and dedication has brought noticeable, lasting improvements in my child’s life — therapist’s predictions about my child have always been right.

Kumar Sir shares a brotherly bond with me and my family; he is a man with zero ego, immense patience, selflessness, and genuine care, treating not only my child but all children with utmost affection. Beyond therapy, Pari Mam and Kumar Sir are also adorable family friends to us.

Hello everyone! I’m Induja, and I’m a mother to an autistic child. Life as a mom of an autistic child can be quite challenging for all parents, but we have a significant obligation to nurture these kids. I believe that while autism can be concerning, we must hold on to hope because the progress in these children often unfolds more slowly than we anticipate. Based on my experiences, development is not about the amount of input from parents or therapists and more about how much the child observes and absorbs. If they learn just one thing for a long time, that’s okay; we can continue to teach that same concept without feeling guilty.

At this point, I would emphasize that having the support of therapists is essential until the kids become independent in their daily activities. It has a major impact on their growth. Additionally, it ought to be administered as soon as feasible. Autism awareness has grown in recent years, so if child is not making eye contact, not responding to their name, or exhibiting other symptoms, you should begin early intervention therapy. Children will develop and begin school earlier if you start early The Nalam Therapy facility is the ideal and greatest choice for everyone. Their special education program includes speech and occupational therapy. My son has made significant progress both before and after I left him for over 1.5 years. Parimala Akka is quite knowledgeable about autism, and she handled the children and workers in Nalam with great cooperation. I would especially like to thank Parimala Akka and Kumar Anna for creating this lovely platform for special kids and for contributing to their success. I hope Nalam has a prosperous future.

Storytelling by teachers is truly a boon for special children as it supports their overall development in a simple and joyful way. Through stories, children improve their thinking and logical cognitive abilities by understanding sequence, cause and effect, and problem- solving situations. When teachers ask questions during storytelling, it enhances reasoning skills and encourages children to think independently. Storytelling also plays a major role in language improvement by introducing new vocabulary, improving sentence formation, and developing both expressive and receptive language skills. At the same time, it strengthens listening skills, as children learn to pay attention carefully to understand the story. Regular storytelling sessions increase sitting tolerance and concentration, helping children remain calm and attentive for longer periods. Moreover, colorful and interesting storybooks create curiosity and develop an interest towards reading, gradually building a love for books. Overall, storytelling is a powerful teaching strategy that enhances cognitive growth, communication skills, attention span, and reading interest, making it highly beneficial for special children.

I am Dhruv's mom. I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to Nalam Rehabilitation Centre for the incredible support and care they provided to my 5-year-old non-verbal kid. We came to Nalam rehab while Dhruv is around 3 and half years old.

When we first started therapy, he had significant challenges with speech, eye contact, sensory issues and social interaction. With one year of consistent therapy and the dedicated efforts of the entire Nalam team, we have seen remarkable improvement. His speech has improved, his eye contact has improved greatly, and he is now able to socialize more confidently.

Today, he is going to school studying LKG, which once felt like a distant dream for us. This progress would not have been possible without the patience, commitment, and professional guidance of all the therapists and staff members. The best part of your centre is not only concentrating in room therapy, you also encourage our boys celebrating their birthdays and conducting events regularly, temple visits and tours which enhance our kids to be more social and stress free.

When a child drops a coin into their piggy bank, it’s not just about saving change — it slowly builds the habit of saving. Over time, they start understanding that money doesn’t come instantly and that it grows little by little. It also teaches patience, because they have to wait until the bank fills up to buy something they really want. For many children, opening a piggy bank after months feels exciting and rewarding. It even helps them learn basic money management at a young age — like choosing between spending immediately or saving for something bigger. In a small and fun way, a piggy bank builds responsibility, self-control, and smart financial habits that can stay with them for life.

I am Vanitha NandhaKumar mother of Dharun Jayanth. Dharun Jayanth has crossed many challenges starting from his 4th month..He has reached this stage only because of Occupational Therapy. Most of the days he will be getting sick and the continuity breaks and again the therapy needs to be started from scratch. We are here in Nalam for the past 3 years and we could see the improvements in his activities as he is becoming fit. Only when the child is fit enough,we could move to the next level. This change we feel only in Nalam. We saw an improvement in behaviour control. Such major changes happened in hyperactiveness. He had a great time for social interaction.

Initially my child won't respond for what we are asking, after just 3 months of occupational therapy and one month of speech therapy we have a drastic change now he is responding to us and also much more behavioural changes even we received positive feedback from the doctor. I’m very much satisfied with the service continue to do the same especially parimalam mam and kumar sir and other staffs shows the unconditional love to our children and professionally well trained to handle our kids. I'm Krishnaveni from Erode. My native is Kerala. At the age of 2 I started therapy for my Grandchild her name Vimanjika at Nalam. With hope, We continued therapy session for 1year. These guys were awesome. They all took care of my Grandchild. Nalam a comfortable place for both children and parents their therapy sessions made several changes in my Grandchild. Not only therapy they celebrate all the festivals, birthday, which is more nurturing for the children and they teach daily routines, good habits, safety rules etc. 1year we continued therapy classes she has developed in all the way like academic, life skills.
